Christmas is finally here and we hope each and every one of you will get a fabulous Holiday! Over the last few weeks, we have already celebrated the festive season with various festive events and activities across all our centres in Kingston, Surbiton and Wimbledon.

YMCA London South West, which is celebrating its 140th anniversary this year, has a long and proud tennis tradition in the Boroughs of Merton and Kingston, with the tennis legend Roger Taylor being the most notable tennis star to have lived at the YMCA hostel in Wimbledon in the 1970s.
This autumn, the Head Office of YMCA London South West has been so lucky as to have a new volunteer, Stuart, through a successful partnership with Balance’s Learning Disability Employment Support Service.
Merton Winter Night Shelter provides people who sleep rough in the Merton area with healthy and homemade food, a warm and dry place to sleep and a friendly atmosphere where they can relax and let their guard down for a night.
Small Santas, walking Santas, big Santas, running Santas, Santas in baby-buggies and Santas with dogs… Saturday 13th December saw over fifty Santas running, skipping, jogging and walking the first ever Santa Run at YMCA Hawker in Kingston.

How the YMCA LSW Camp made Will’s summer one to remember When 11 year old Will jumped off a cliff and into the Irish Sea this summer, he overcame more than just the usual tingling and butterflies such activities can bring out.
This year, it is 140 years since the YMCA was first established in Kingston, Surbiton and Wimbledon. On Thursday 27th November over 100 people attended an event in St Peter’s church in Norbiton to celebrate the 140th anniversary of YMCA London South West.
Jade came to the YMCA following an unstable period in her life where she used all her strength caring for others until she had no energy left to care for herself. Now, she uses the creative workshops and volunteer programmes offered at the YMCA to rebuild her confidence and self-worth.
