YMCA London South West is a registered Christian charity that has been established for over 135 years. Today, we are active in the areas of supported housing, health & fitness, children's work and youth work, helping thousands of people each year. For example:
- Last year, we housed over 300 homeless people. As well as providing a warm bed and a hot meal, we help build futures, offering the practical support needed to gain qualifications, work experience, life skills and the confidence to eventually live independently.
- We offer subsidised Day Camp places to children whose families would not otherwise be able to afford them.
- At Basement and YMCA John Innes Centre we provide the facilities and equipment for young people to make and enjoy music in a safe, alcohol free environment.
- At Skills Academy we offer alternative education to 14 to 16 year olds who struggle in mainstream education. On graduation, 99% leave to take up jobs or further study.
- We offer subsidised gym membership to encourage 'hard to reach' groups to be more active.
