Battle of the Bands 2011
25 October 2011
Music Room’s Battle of the Bands 2011 certainly lived up to its name, with URAH.State narrowly pipping the rest to be crowned winners.
The three lads, who bought along a massive following, won a day’s recording in the Music Room Studio. Chris Born & The Highwaymen finished second and were awarded a £50 music voucher for
Broadway Music
(the event sponsors), while the interestingly attired Tearaway finished third.
The event was held at YMCA John Innes Youth Centre in front of a near capacity crowd of 150 young people. Each got to vote for their favourite performance, the result of which carried 50% of the weighting, while the other 50% was determined by the judges.
Music Room hosts monthly gig nights for young bands and singers to perform. Check out the Music Room
website
or
Facebook
page for more details about the next gig.
