Activities
As well as our day trips and fitness and dance classes there are other activities run specifically for seniors across YMCA LSW centres.
Bowling
Bowling is good, gentle exercise, plus a great way to enjoy the summer and make new friends. We run sessions at both YMCA Hawker Centre (outdoor) and YMCA Wimbledon (indoor).

Walks
Walking is a great form of exercise at any age and our walk leaders have put together some great routes around London and the local area to get you out and active, all completely free.
We’ve planned two walks a month leaving from all our centres, all starting at 10am (unless otherwise stated). Walks leave on a Monday from YMCA Hawker Centre, a Tuesday from YMCA Wimbledon and a Wednesday from YMCA Surbiton. We travel by public transport to and from the walk routes.
You can download a full programme of walks here
The Walking Group is part of the
Change4Life programme
in Kingston and Surbiton, which also offers a wide programme of dance, cycling and running, and part of the
Walk4Life programme
in Merton.

Social
YMCA Surbiton is home to
The Teapot
a group that meets every Wednesday at 2.30pm in Canteen for afternoon tea and a natter. Likewise the
Y Social
who meet every Thursday evening. New seniors soon feel at home as Joyce (the YMCA Organiser) takes great care to involve everyone and introduce newcomers to the group.
