Breakfast Club
(Ages 4 to 11)
Breakfast Club
Breakfast Club runs at YMCA Hawker Centre from 7.45 am. It offers the opportunity for children to play with friends, catch up with homework or relax before the day really gets going. A healthy breakfast of toast, cereal and juice is served. We drop off at two Kingston primary schools - Fernhill and St Agatha's.
After School Clubs
After School Clubs run at YMCA Hawker Centre, YMCA Wimbledon and YMCA Surbiton as well as King Athelstan, St John Fisher and West Wimbledon Primary schools.
Space staff will collect your child from school, keep them safe and entertained until you collect them. They can use the time to chill out, catch up with homework or take part in organised games, sports or arts and crafts. If it’s a nice afternoon, we go to the park or make the most of the YMCA’s many outdoor areas.
All this activity builds an appetite, so a healthy snack is served with a drink at around 4pm to bridge the gap until dinner.
Space out of school care caters for children of all abilities. If your child has additional needs or requirements, please contact us so that we can talk about what we can do to help your child feel happy and comfortable.
YMCA LSW accepts childcare vouchers. Contact you local Centre for full information, contact details are below.
Play Pod
(Ages 6 weeks to 5 years)
Babies and toddlers will have a great time in the Space Play Pod at YMCA Wimbledon and YMCA Hawker Centre. There’s plenty to do with stacks of toys, picture books, games and arts & crafts materials. It’s a fun, stimulating and safe environment run within the Early Years Foundation Stage framework which is designed to make the transition between nursery care and school a lot easier.
Babies and toddlers can stay in the Play Pod for up to two hours and with a minimum staff/child ratio of 1:4 they get lots of individual attention. The creche costs £4.20 per hour. All parents new to the Pod are offered a free trial session.
It usually doesn’t take long for children to feel comfortable and completely absorbed in play. But if a little extra help is needed, we run a specially designed ‘settling’ programme to gradually ease them into the Pod routine.
The Play Pod is open to everyone, not just YMCA Wimbledon members and you can go off-site providing we have a mobile phone number. It’s a reliable and affordable option if you want to take a fitness class, attend an appointment or enjoy some leisurely shopping.
