We run after-school term-time classes and holiday courses throughout the year and offer a fun sport that develops co-ordination, flexibility, strategy and teamwork.
Tennis is a fun and effective form of exercise for children, developing co-ordination, flexibility, strategy and (when playing doubles) teamwork. At YMCA Hawker we offer classes for all ages whether playing for fun or for progression in the sport.
A fun introduction to ballet, designed to encourage 3 and 4 year olds to enjoy the benefits and joys of dance. Baby ballet has built up a fantastic reputation for providing children with the opportunity to express themselves within a fun, safe and caring environment.
Classes run Mondays at lunch time and Thursday mornings.
We offer high quality weekly ballet classes for children from pre-primary school age and up to Grade 3 exam level.
Classes run Tuesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons, termly. Please speak to reception to see which class would best suit your child.
Baby and junior dance classes
Plenty of energy? Then these fun and funky dance classes are for you: Tiny Street Dance, Baby Jazz, Primary and Junior Tap, Street Dance and Teen Energy.
The pay-as-you-go karate classes at YMCA Hawker are taught by Kahlsa Karate who are members of the British Karate Association and are registered with the English karate governing body.
Classes run all year and are a great way to introduce your child to a sport with benefits that can stay with them for the rest of their lives. During the lessons we balance discipline and fun so that the children enjoy their class, rewarding them with good behavior and following instructions. Classes run Wednesday and Friday (6pm & 7pm) and Sunday (10am). For children aged 4+.
We run termly children’s Judo classes for ages 4-8, Mondays 3.45-4.45pm.
The latter runs multisports coaching classes indoors during the winter time, currently for 2-3 year olds, however if older children would like to join then get in touch.
