Resistance training (weight training) and cardiovascular training are beneficial at any age. YMCA LSW offers good gym facilities with equipment suitable for everyone with well-trained staff on hand to offer advice.

Resistance training using machines or free weights will help to build bone strength and improve flexibility, both of which decline as we get older. The treadmill, stepper or stationary bike will get your heart pumping, improve cardiovascular fitness and help keep the dreaded middle-aged spread at bay.

Use the gym at a time to suit you or join in with one of the supervised group 'Gym & Tonic' sessions that are especially designed for seniors.
