Helen was born and brought up in Cardiff, but has lived in Wimbledon, Surbiton and now Claygate for over 20 years. In that time she has worked for the Bank of England and the Financial Services Authority but now works for Lloyds Banking Group, Insurance, where she is the Head of Compliance for the Solvency programme. She spends a lot of time travelling to Edinburgh as well as serving as a local magistrate when back at home.
Helen has been a Trustee of YMCA London South West for 15 years. She first came in contact with the YMCA as she lived around the corner from YMCA Surbiton and used the fitness facilities. She began her Y life as a Trustee of the then separate Care charity when YMCA LSW’s Care Homes in Molesey and Walton were first completed. Helen has been Chair of the Board of Trustees since 2010.
