Before I moved in to the YMCA I lived with my mum and her boyfriend. We were arguing a lot and I went a bit wild and was kicked out from school. I wasn’t behaving myself and when I was 18 I was kicked out from home as well.
I stayed with a friend at first and after two months I moved in to the YMCA.
I have a Support Worker and he has sorted out a lot of problems for me since I moved in. He’s nice and I get along with him well. I have asked for counseling because I need to learn how to deal with my problems myself. I will also do the Life Skills course where you learn cooking, budgeting, resettlement and get prepared for living on your own.
I would really like to get a job because not having anything to do during the day is depressing and boring. I have been handing out CV’s but not heard anything back yet. I have studied Child Care and Social Care and in the future I would like to become a Social Worker. I like helping people.
My relationship with my family is a lot better now that I don’t live with them and I see my mum every day.
Hayley, 18
