Resident Support
One of the Chaplaincy team’s key tasks involves supporting the residents during and after their time with us.
Moving into a new place and a new environment can be daunting. The Chaplaincy team, alongside Support Workers, strive to make the transition as smooth as possible.
The team run a number of programmes for residents, whether they are of the Christian Faith, any other Faith or none. On Monday evenings at YMCA Surbiton, the ‘Chaplaincy on Monday’s’ group meet for discussion and prayer; while at YMCA Surbiton on a Wednesday afternoon and at YMCA Wimbledon on a Thursday afternoon, residents are invited along to ‘Snack and Chat’, a chance to meet the team over sandwiches.
Quite often however, Residents just need someone to listen and to talk to. The Chaplaincy team make themselves available for just that, offering free, independent and confidential pastoral support.
Contact
You can contact either Jacky Bone (YMCA Surbiton) or Rev Ken Davies (YMCA Wimbledon) by email, telephone or via the Support Team or Reception at the centres.
