Trips, walks, meet-ups and more.

YMCA WALKS

Our monthly walks are FREE and start from YMCA Wimbledon at 10am, returning mid-afternoon.

Tuesday 4 July: Beverley Brook

Taking the 57 bus to the Holland Avenue stop to  follow the Beverley Brook walk along the edge of Wimbledon Common, across Richmond Park and Palewell Common, towards Barnes Common and along the river to Putney.  There are cafes and toilets in Richmond Park and Palewell Common. [About 6.5 miles along paths and pavements, if wet some paths can be very muddy.  Drop out point on the route is by bus from the Upper Richmond Road to Putney.]

Tuesday 12 September: Ashtead Common to Claygate

Taking a train from Wimbledon Station to Surbiton and then awaiting the 465 bus to Ashtead Common.  The walk follows the edge of the Common and crosses fields and a wood before climbing past the Chessington World of Adventures car parks to Winey Hill.  From the hill the route descends to a bridge over the A3 and heads towards Claygate for lunch at the Hare and Hounds pub.  Return   to Wimbledon via Surbiton station on the K3 bus from Claygate. [About 4 miles, one hill and some possibly very muddy paths.]

LUNCH CLUB

Every month we get together to enjoy a traditional two-course meal, entertainment, a raffle and some fun and friendship.  All for just £8 a head.
