9 May 2017

We’re promoting inclusion and celebrating diversity with activities at YMCA Hawker on Friday 19 May and talking about what makes our fantastic centre “inclusive”.

This event is part of the Inclusive Lives project that aims to get people with a disability involved in our local community, but everyone is welcome. Our gym will be free all day for anyone who wants to try it out, along with free tennis activities for adults and children from 2pm. You can take a stroll with our social walk group on a local route, led by our guide or enjoy a free community lunch from 12pm-2pm. Kids (and young-at-heart grown ups!) will adore the giant Zorbing balls and race track (3pm-6pm, £3 per person) on the big sports field, while little ones can let off steam in a free Pod session running from 4pm-6pm. Is your bike in need of some pampering? Bring it along for an overhaul with the Dr Bike team run by the Kingston Eco-op team. There’ll also be lots of talks and demonstrations, all highlighting what it means to be “inclusive”. Spread the word and bring your friends and family for a fun-packed event!
