We’ve got a special gym promotion for you throughout January with no joining fee for new members!
Why not pop into your local YMCA Health & Wellbeing Centre to find out more about this exciting gym promotion?
You’ll love the range of modern equipment, the number of fitness classes on offer and our friendly staff. A YMCA gym is a place to relax as you work out, set your own fitness goals and feel really good about yourself.
Our centres are spread across South West, South and East London in Kingston, Surbiton, Wimbledon and Walthamstow. Angelika Szmit is a member of the gym at YMCA Walthamstow, and she is thrilled with her weight loss. “I’ve reached my goal. I’ve lost about 4st since I started and I feel totally comfortable with my training.”
Great feedback about our gyms
One of our members at YMCA Hawker in north Kingston is very impressed with the Bone Build Pilates classes with her instructor Kate. “Kate’s sessions are meticulously planned and her approach is developmental, so everyone can see progression in their own individual practice. She quickly gets to know everyone by name and throughout sessions she corrects postures which are not exactly in alignment thereby giving individual attention in a class setting. Added to that, her classes are fun!”
Another gym member at YMCA Hawker Sara Mark, 60, joined the gym to get in shape for her pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. “I joined the gym to try and get fit. I’m so glad I did, because I would have struggled with my trek otherwise. I trained in the gym with my backpack on which weighed 8 kilos!”
At YMCA Wimbledon, local au pair Sarah Smadja, 23, works out three times a week. She loves the indoor cycling classes, too. “I’m trying to lose weight so this is perfect for me, and the staff here are great too.” Eric Alegre, 33, lives in Wimbledon and comes along to the centre every day. “The gym is very clean and the machines are good. You never have to wait or queue to use a piece of equipment.”
Nilanthi Kudamaduwage, 47 was referred to the gym at YMCA Surbiton on a 12 -week programme by Kingston’s Public Health team to help her build up her strength. She completed the programme and was so impressed with the staff and facilities, she decided to join as a member. Her tailored programme is easy to keep to and she feels comfortable with it, and attends three times a week. “I love the range of equipment and I find the staff very helpful,” she says.
